Contaminated Soil & Remediation — Deeper Detail

Contaminated soil work in Sydney usually arises from old service stations, light industrial sites, ex-orchards (organochlorines), legacy fuel tanks, or sites with bonded asbestos in soil. The job is two parts: classification and disposal.

Classification Categories (NSW EPA)

Cost Drivers

Typical Workflow

  1. Phase 1/2 contamination report from your environmental consultant
  2. Lab analysis classifies the soil per EPA guidelines
  3. We mobilise excavator, dump trucks and dispatcher
  4. Excavate, segregate, stockpile per class, sample if required
  5. Validation sampling once the dig is complete
  6. Tip dockets, environmental sign-off and clearance pack handed to your consultant

Asbestos in Soil

If bonded fragments are visible or suspected, the dig is staged: hand-pick of visible fragments first, then mechanical removal under a registered AHRA-style controlled excavation. We tarp stockpiles, wet down dust, decontaminate plant on exit and provide an air-monitoring program where required.
